Connecting Educators, Igniting Passion: The "Pu-Pu Chat 100" Annual Conference Celebrates Teaching Innovation

From July 2 to July 4, 2025, educators from all across Taiwan gathered at Mabuville in Hsinchu to participate in the "Pu-Pu Chat 100 Annual Conference." The three-day event centered around a simple yet profound theme: "Discussing Pedagogy, Renewing Friendships, and Igniting Passion."

Here, teachers shared their experiences and insights from modern classrooms, exchanged thoughts on trials and challenges faced in their teaching, and rediscovered their educational passion through each other's stories. When educational partners from different cities and schools come together, teaching ceases to be a solitary effort—it becomes a collective force moving forward.

Driven by this shared belief, teachers traveled from various regions to Habuville, Hsinchu. Under the guidance and hosting of Principal Hung Hsu-liang and Ms. Tsai Meng-yun (Teacher Little Gecko), they embarked together on a three-day educational journey filled with exchange and learning.

On the afternoon of the first day, teachers arrived at the venue one after another. From registration to the ice-breaking session, educators from different schools and disciplines quickly connected. Some shared instructional designs, others exchanged class management tips, and some spoke of the touching moments of growth brought by their students. The subsequent "Heartbeat 300" segment heated up the atmosphere instantly. Teachers shared their finest teaching highlights within a strict time limit; behind every presentation lay the fruits of repeated practice and deep reflection in the classroom.

On the evening of the first day, Mr. Yang Chang-xun delivered a session titled "Mobile Teaching and Learning." Through practical case studies, he demonstrated how to leverage mobile learning and digital tools to encourage students to actively explore and learn in various contexts. Throughout the session, teachers eagerly contributed their own observations and practical experiences, creating a highly vibrant atmosphere for exchange.

Early the next morning, the day's activities kicked off with a morning workout along the mountain trails. Strolling through the natural scenery, teachers welcomed the new day while casually chatting about educational ideas. One teacher smiled and noted that discussing education in such an environment felt like rediscovering the original aspiration of becoming an educator.

The curriculum exchange on the second day proved to be the most enriching part of the entire conference.

In the morning, Mr. Ah-Gang led the first session, "Step-by-Step: Crafting Your Own Digital Teaching Tools with AI," guiding teachers on how AI can serve as a powerful teaching assistant. From material preparation and classroom interaction to lesson planning, AI can bring enhanced efficiency and creativity to teaching, revealing endless new possibilities at the intersection of technology and education.

Next, during the session "The Code for Teacher-Student-Parent Synergy," Mr. Lao-Su drew from his years of teaching experience to discuss how to cultivate a positive classroom environment and parent-teacher relationships. Through authentic teaching stories and cases, he prompted teachers to reflect on the fact that accompanying and understanding students is just as vital as instruction itself.

In the afternoon, Professor Chen Xin-xi presented "The Reading Choice for the New Generation: Debao," leading teachers to reconsider the value of reading education in the digital era. By fostering reading comprehension and critical thinking skills, students can maintain their ability to understand the world and evaluate information in an age of rapid information flow.

The evening of the second day featured a relaxed "Izakaya Twilight Night" social event, which also served as a special live hookup for the 100th episode of "Pu-Pu Chat." During the event, Ms. Lin Yu-jun from Kaohsiung Siwei Elementary School shared "How to Use Digital Tools? Technology-Assisted Learning and Participation for Special Needs Students," allowing teachers to witness the immense potential of technology in special education through real-world examples.

On the morning of the third day, the curriculum focus shifted to the application of AI and educational innovation.

Mr. Hou Zhi-xun, in his session "10 Application Guides of AI for Educators," shared the diverse applications of AI in instructional scenarios, helping teachers understand how to utilize technology to boost teaching efficiency. Mr. Wang Yong-fu introduced "My AI Workflow," illustrating how to use AI tools to optimize teaching and administrative processes. Finally, Mr. Chen Shi-bin’s session, "Creative and Fun Image Generation with AI," led teachers to experience the creative uses of AI image generation, leaving everyone inspired by the future possibilities of education.

The three days of exchange and learning allowed teachers to take away not only fresh instructional inspiration but also a profound sense of strength derived from the educator community.

As the final group photo was taken, every face was adorned with a smile. The brief three-day gathering enabled educational partners from different cities to know and encourage one another, accumulating greater teaching energy through repeated sharing and dialogue.

Throughout this annual conference, teachers discussed pedagogy, renewed friendships, and ignited passion together. These exchanges and connections will follow each teacher back to their respective classrooms, continuing to thrive across different campuses and transforming into further teaching creativity and educational possibilities.
